ABOUT SWAM

AN ADULT SWIM GROUP FOR ALL ABILITIES

SWIMMING WITH ALASKA MASTERS (SWAM), established in 1984, was the first masters swim group in Anchorage to be sanctioned by U.S. Masters Swimming. SWAM is an adult swim group for swimmers of all abilities and goals – novice to advanced with interests in fitness, recreation or training for events. Don’t be intimidated by Masters in our name. Masters are adult swimmers. We offer regular morning and evening workouts guided by certified coaches who provide organized workouts and assistance to help you meet your swimming goals. Interested? JOIN US

New swimmers qualify for one free trial swim. No forms or membership are required, but please arrive 15 minutes prior to one of our scheduled swims to introduce yourself to our coach.

To continue swimming with SWAM:

  1. Join USMS. Swimmers who are new to USMS qualify for a free 30-day USMS tryout membership. Annual membership is required after the tryout period. Complete a USMS Trial Membership form. Returning USMS members should bring proof of current registration.
  2. Complete a SWAM registration form and give to the coach at your next swim.
  3. Pay an introductory one month tryout fee of $60 ($61.50 using Venmo) for unlimited swims. For other options see the Practices & Fees page for location, times, payment info and addtional details.

Location: Moseley Sports Center, Alaska Pacific University, 4400 University Dr, Anchorage

Summer workout times:
6-7 a.m. — Mon., Wed., Fri.
6-7 p.m. — Tue., Thur.
9-10 a.m. — Sat.

Fees:

  • $120 ($123 with Venmo)/month to attend any and all practices
  • $85 ($87 with Venmo) /month to attend 8 swims
  • $15 ($15.50 with Venmo) per visit drop-in fee

2026 ADULT LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM
